What this site is
Desert Game Studio is an independent project that publishes original games you can play instantly in a web browser. Every game, including its code, artwork and written guides, was created for this project. We do not use copyrighted characters, brand names or assets from other games.
What you will find
There are two groups of games. The classic set has Sudoku, Glow Merge (a sliding number puzzle in the style of 2048), Pair Pop (memory matching), Neon Tac (six-by-six tic-tac-toe against the computer), Comet Trail (an arcade chase) and Tap Lightning (a reaction test). The eye-test pack has Odd One Out, Hidden Objects, Spot the Difference and Colour Plates. The eye-test games are visual puzzles for fun. They are not medical tests and cannot say anything about your eyesight.
Daily challenges and your profile
Almost every game has a daily challenge built from a seed that depends only on the date, so everyone sees the same puzzle on the same day. Finishing it grows your streak. Your name, scores, stars, achievements and streaks live in a profile stored in your own browser. There are no accounts and no servers involved. If you want to move to another device, open the profile page and copy your export code.
Our approach
We build games that start fast, work with a keyboard or a touch screen, and respect your time. The pages are light, game code is only downloaded on the page of that game, and each game keeps its rules in separate tested logic that can be reused in other places later.
How the site is funded
The games are free. To cover hosting and development we may show advertisements, including ads provided by Google AdSense. Ads are clearly labelled and are never placed over the play area or next to game controls. See the privacy policy for details about cookies and advertising.
